This report summarises the community involvement activities and community feedback on the Coffs Harbour Highway Planning Strategy in the period between close of receipt of submissions for Stage 1 (Discussion Paper) on December 11, 2001 and the close of receipt of submissions for Stage 2 (Corridor Options) on May 10, 2002.

Community Involvement Summary Report (Discussion Paper Stage)

The Community Involvement Summary Report is a 72 page report summarising community involvement activities and project coverage during the Discussion Paper stage of the Coffs Harbour Highway Planning Strategy. The report includes details of the level of awareness of the strategy and the main issues raised by the community from project launch on 21 September 2001 to close of receipt of submissions on 11 December 2001. Issues raised in submissions received after this date will be included in subsequent summary reports. Submissions on the planning strategy will be accepted at any time during its preparation.

Open Information Sessions

The Open Information Sessions Report is a 53 page report describing the seven Open Information Sessions held at various locations throughout the Coffs Harbour LGA during October and November 2001. It reports on the meeting format and includes a copy of the presentation material, a summary of main issues and concerns raised and appendices listing specific questions and comments recorded at each meeting. More than 600 copies of the report were mailed to OIS meeting attendees on Friday 7 December 2001.

Community Focus Group Meetings

Sapphire to Woolgoolga Upgrade Project

Two Community Focus Groups (CFGs) have been formed for the Sapphire to Woolgoolga Upgrade Project (S2W) - one to represent community interests at the Woolgoolga end of the study area (northern group) and the other to represent community interests at the Sapphire to Moonee end (southern group). Depending on the stage of project development, some of the CFG meetings can be run successfully by combining the two groups. As each CFG meeting is held, meeting notes will be posted onto the web site.
