Key considerations
The environmental assessment process seeks to ensure that all relevant environmental matters are considered and that community and interest groups are involved in the development of the proposal and the assessment of its potential impacts. Issues emerge as a result of specialist investigations and feedback from the ongoing community consultation program. There are a number of issues to be considered for this project.
The key issues identified by the Director-General of the Department of Planning include:
- Planning and land use.
- Traffic and access.
- Noise and vibration.
- Biodiversity.
- Heritage.
- Economic and social impacts.
- Soil and water.
- Urban design and landscaping.
