The RTA has engaged Arup to assist with community consultation and development of the preferred route option for the project.

The environmental assessment was on display for community comment until 31 October 2008. The RTA has considered the submissions received in response to the environmental assessment and has submitted a submissions report, and revised statement of commitments, to the NSW Department of Planning for further assessment and consideration for approval by the NSW Minister for Planning. If approved by the Minister for Planning, the Chief Executive of the RTA will then decide whether to proceed with the Proposal.
